White Rhino on Surfline!

‘White Rhino’ Goes Behind the Scenes at Three Iconic XXL Swells Cloudbreak, Teahupoo and back to Cloudbreak

If you’re a fan of giant surf — and who isn’t? — you no doubt consumed most of the photos, video and interviews from the three of the biggest swells of 2011-2012 from Cloudbreak (Volcom swells) and Teahupoo (Code Red swell). Filmmaker Brent Storm consumed every single bit of it — and then decided that more was needed to fully chronicle these special events. So he tracked down all the footage and wrangled some of the standout surfers and created a whole narrative around chasing these South Pacific behemoths and made ‘White Rhino’, a feature-length, professionally done documentary. “For some people, having to worry about your life while you’re surfing makes surfing not fun,” explains Mark Healey in the film. “For other people, that’s the only thing that makes surfing fun.”
